Terms of competition  2 0 2 2

The next Bitburg Piano Competition will take place from May 6th to 8th, 2022.

The registration deadline is Thursday, March 31, 2022 (postmark or e-mail protocol).  

 

All young pianists up to the age of 21 who meet the following conditions are eligible to participate.

• The competition will be divided into eight age groups (AS)
   accomplished:
   AS 1 (born 2016 and later)
   AS 2 (born 2014/15)
   AS 3 (born 2012/13)
   AS 4 (born 2010/11)
   AS 5 (classes 2008/09)
   AS 6 (born 2006/07)
   AS 7 (born 2004-05)

   AS 8 (born 2001-03)


  The order of the participants depends on their age. The youngest participant starts.


 

Registration fee

 

  A fee of €50 will be charged for participation in the competition.


  Registration includes the fully completed registration form (download) and payment of the participation fee.     This is to be transferred to the following account:

  When registering, proof of the payment made must be submitted.


  Upon registration, the conditions of participation and the data protection regulations are accepted. The reporting period ends on  

   March 31, 2022 (postmark or email log).

  Slow and fast pieces are to be performed.
  The scores of the modern compositions are to be presented to the jury.
  It is not compulsory to play individual works or the entire program by heart.
 

Age 1 and 2   -  Play time 6 - 10 minutes
  at least two works from different eras
 

Ages 3 and 4   -  Play time 10 - 15 minutes
  a work by Johann Sebastian Bach
  additionally at least two works from different epochs


Ages 5 to 8   -  Audition time 15 - 20 minutes
  a work by Johann Sebastian Bach
  in addition, at least two works from other, different epochs, including one work from the 20th century

Presence   in front  Location

 

Each participant must be at the registration table no later than 60 minutes before their own audition date. Here he will be informed about the organizational process and possible changes in the program after registration.

Furthermore, each participant is expected to appear in front of the ballroom of Haus Beda at least 10 minutes before the specified date.

 

 

Rating

The internationally proven 25-point system serves as the basis for evaluation. The results will be announced at the end of each competition day. After the end of the entire competition, the results can be viewed under "Downloads" and downloaded as a PDF file.

The jury consists of at least three pianists/piano teachers. It reserves the right to interrupt the performances of a participant if the time is exceeded or for other reasons. The decisions of the jury are final and not subject to appeal.

With their participation, all participants or their legal guardians declare that the competition management is entitled to create image and sound recordings of the competition and to publish them in press reports or on this website. Deviating agreements must be individually recorded in writing by the participants.
